Meiotic drive is the preferential transmission of a particular allele during sexual reproduction. The phenomenon is observed as spore killing in multiple fungi. In natural populations of <i>Podospora anserina</i>, seven spore killer types (<i>Psk</i>s) have been identified through classical genetic analyses.
