Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a recently recognized esophageal inflammatory disease with clinical manifestations arising from esophageal dysfunction. The etiology of EoE is currently being clarified and food allergy is evolving as the central cornerstone of EoE disease pathogenesis.
