<i>Streptococcus suis</i> (<i>S. suis</i>) is a gram-positive bacterium and zoonotic pathogen. Currently it poses a serious problem in the swine industry due to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Thus, novel antimicrobials against <i>S. suis</i> infections are urgently needed.
