Compared with the noble-metal surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates activated by the surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-induced electromagnetic mechanism (EM), the relative low sensitivity and stability of the chemical mechanism (CM)-based substrates are the biggest obstacles to their applications.
