Project description:A growing body of research has illuminated that photodynamic therapy (PDT) serves as an important therapeutic strategy in oncology and has become a hot topic in recent years. Although numerous papers related to cancer PDT (CPDT) have been published, no bibliometric studies have been conducted to summarize the research landscape, and highlight the research trends and hotspots in this field. This study collected 5,804 records on CPDT published between 2000 and 2021 from Web of Science Core Collection. Bibliometric analysis and visualization were conducted using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and one online platform. The annual publication and citation results revealed significant increasing trends over the past 22 years. China and the United States, contributing 56.24% of the total publications, were the main driving force in this field. Chinese Academy of Sciences was the most prolific institution. Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy and Photochemistry and Photobiology were the most productive and most co-cited journals, respectively. All keywords were categorized into four clusters including studies on nanomaterial technology, clinical applications, mechanism, and photosensitizers. "nanotech-based PDT" and "enhanced PDT" were current research hotspots. In addition to several nano-related topics such as "nanosphere," "nanoparticle," "nanomaterial," "nanoplatform," "nanomedicine" and "gold nanoparticle," the following topics including "photothermal therapy," "metal organic framework," "checkpoint blockade," "tumor microenvironment," "prodrug" also deserve further attention in the near future.

Project description:BackgroundSince the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, a great number of papers have been published in the pediatric field.ObjectiveWe aimed to assess research around the globe on COVID-19 in the pediatric field by bibliometric analysis, identifying publication trends and topic dissemination and showing the relevance of publishing authors, institutions, and countries.MethodsThe Scopus database was comprehensively searched for all indexed documents published between January 1, 2020, and June 11, 2020, dealing with COVID-19 in the pediatric population (0-18 years). A machine learning bibliometric methodology was applied to evaluate the total number of papers and citations, journal and publication types, the top productive institutions and countries and their scientific collaboration, and core keywords.ResultsA total of 2301 papers were retrieved, with an average of 4.8 citations per article. Of this, 1078 (46.9%) were research articles, 436 (18.9%) were reviews, 363 (15.8%) were letters, 186 (8.1%) were editorials, 7 (0.3%) were conference papers, and 231 (10%) were categorized as others. The studies were published in 969 different journals, headed by The Lancet. The retrieved papers were published by a total of 12,657 authors from 114 countries. The most productive countries were the United States, China, and Italy. The four main clusters of keywords were pathogenesis and clinical characteristics (keyword occurrences: n=2240), public health issues (n=352), mental health (n=82), and therapeutic aspects (n=70).ConclusionsIn the pediatric field, a large number of articles were published within a limited period on COVID-19, testifying to the rush to spread new findings on the topic in a timely manner. The leading authors, countries, and institutions evidently belonged to the most impacted geographical areas. A focus on the pediatric population was often included in general articles, and pediatric research about COVID-19 mainly focused on the clinical features, public health issues, and psychological impact of the disease.

Project description:This study presents an overview of the state-of-the-art in trade credit research by examining 1191 publications between 1955 and 2019. Applying bibliometrics and econometrics, the study compares the extant research across the three sub-domains of banking and finance, production and operations, and accounting. Findings suggest that the financial emergency in the global market had resulted in a watershed moment in trade credit research. About 69 % of the literature was found to have emerged after the global economic crisis of 2008. A network analysis grouped the trade credit articles into four major and four minor clusters. The banking and financing cluster exhibited the highest growth followed by the production and operation cluster while the perspectives of accounting are yet to gain traction. Conversely, reputation of the publishing hub, empirical studies, and the production and operational dimensions of the research positively and significantly influence citations. Alongside a thorough introspection, the study also provides new areas to direct the course of future research.

Project description:BackgroundAs a malignant digestive system tumor, pancreatic cancer has unique metabolic characteristics. In recent years, the study of pancreatic cancer metabolism is in full swing, which provides a new direction for the treatment of pancreatic cancer patients. However, there is no systematic report of pancreatic cancer metabolism. In this paper, bibliometrics and visualization methods were used to analyze the number of publications, countries/regions, authors, institutions, journals, co-cited references, and keywords of pancreatic cancer metabolism articles, to summarize the research trends and predict research hotspots.MethodsWe searched, screened and downloaded articles on pancreatic cancer metabolism through the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Using CiteSpace, VOSviewer and Bibliometrix Package to analyze publications, countries/regions, authors, institutions, journals, co-cited references, and keywords of pancreatic cancer metabolism to identify research trends and predict research hotspots.ResultsAccording to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 5,255 articles were retrieved during the period 1943-2022. The number of publications on pancreatic cancer metabolism is increasing year by year. The United States (n=1602, 30.49%), China (n=1074, 20.44%), and Italy (n=313, 5.96%) are the three countries with the largest number of publications and citations, and there is close cooperation between countries. LI J (n=55) is the most prolific author. FUDAN UNIV (n=348) is the most published institution. CANCERS (n=118), PLOS ONE (n=93), and CANCER RESEARCH (n=80) are the most popular journals in this field. "Nutriment-deficient environment", "cancer chemoprevention" and "targeting cancer stem cell" are the main areas of focus. "immunotherapy", "ferroptosis" and "targeted therapy" are hot keywords in recent years. Taking pancreatic cancer metabolism as an entry point to study the role of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) mainly focuses on curcumin and resveratrol, lack of broader and deeper research on TCM.ConclusionsThe number of publications on pancreatic cancer metabolism has generally increased, and scholars have generally paid more attention to this field. "immunotherapy", "ferroptosis" and "targeted therapy" are the current research hotspots. The in-depth study of pancreatic cancer metabolism will provide new ideas for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

The analysis reveals a significant increase in scientific production, a 9.2 annual growth rate, and an H-index of 60. Project description:Emotions are considered a fundamental aspect of sport scenarios, and within sports, consumer behavior is a very popular area of research in the sport management field. Thus, in recent years, there has been a growing interest for sport managers regarding the role that emotions play in sport consumer behavior. Thus, the aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the academic research on emotions in the sport management field using two techniques: a bibliometric performance analysis and a graphic mapping of the references in this field. This analysis focuses on authors, journals, papers, institutions and countries. Bibliometric indicators including the h-index measure, productivity and the number of citations were used to perform the performance analysis. Then, VOSviewer software was used to perform co-citation, bibliographic coupling and co-occurrence of keyword analysis (mapping analysis). The results of both types of analysis are consistent, with the United States being the most influential country in emotions in sport management research because the main authors and institutions in this research field belong to this country. The overall results indicate that the literature on this research topic has grown significantly in recent years in all scientific disciplines; however, the research topic is incipient, and therefore, the number of articles is still limited. Thus, this research presents the key aspects in the topic of emotions in sport management that could be helpful for researchers and policy makers in the field of sport management to make future decisions.

Project description:Research on the relationship between architecture and neuroscience has increased in number and significance since the 1990s. Although a growing number of studies revolve around this field of research, there are very limited studies that have reviewed and assessed the field and there is a gap in the literature to address the overall analysis of neuroarchitecture literature and its evolution. Additionally, neuroarchitecture literature is now challenging to manage because of its multidisciplinary scope and wide range spread within different themes and journals. The primary aim of this study is to present a bibliometric analysis of three decades of research on neuroarchitecture. This provides an overall picture of the field and its research landscape. Two hundred and ninety-five publications were included in the final database of the study after screening processes. Next, a science mapping tool, VOSviewer, was utilized to detect major topics as well as influential authors, countries, publications, and prominent journals using different network analysis techniques such as term co-citation, term co-occurrence, and bibliographic coupling. Next, a similar co-occurrence analysis was conducted to identify the major themes and the evolution of the intellectual basis of the field. SciMAT was also used to detect how the intellectual base of the knowledge in the field has evolved over time. It also assisted to identify the major themes that have contributed to this evolution. The results show that this field has initially been mainly focused on few themes but has later become more diversified to acknowledge the multi-faceted characteristics of neuroarchitecture; over time, the intellectual base of the field of neuroarchitecture started to grow, particularly from 2016. Major progress in the development of theoretical and methodological approaches has been achieved and there has been a paradigm shift toward major keywords in neuroarchitecture such as EEG, fMRI, and virtual reality.

Project description:BackgroundThe field of critical care-related artificial intelligence (AI) research is rapidly gaining interest. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive bibliometric studies that measure and analyze scientific publications on a global scale. Network charts have traditionally been used to highlight author collaborations and coword phenomena (ACCP). It is necessary to determine whether chord network charts (CNCs) can provide a better understanding of ACCP, thus requiring clarification. This study aimed to achieve 2 objectives: evaluate global research trends in AI in intensive care medicine on publication outputs, coauthorships between nations, citations, and co-occurrences of keywords; and demonstrate the use of CNCs for ACCP in bibliometric analysis.MethodsThe web of science database was searched for a total of 1992 documents published between 2013 and 2022. The document type was limited to articles and article reviews, and titles and abstracts were screened for eligibility. The characteristics of the publications, including preferred journals, leading research countries, international collaborations, top institutions, and major keywords, were analyzed using the category-journal rank-authorship-L-index score and trend analysis. The 100 most highly cited articles are also listed in detail.ResultsBetween 2018 and 2022, there was a sharp increase in publications, which accounted for 92.8% (1849/1992) of all papers included in the study. The United States and China were responsible for nearly 50% (936/1992) of the total publications. The leading countries, institutes, departments, authors, and journals in terms of publications were the US, Massachusetts Gen Hosp (US), Medical School, Zhongheng Zhang (China), and Science Reports. The top 3 primary keywords denoting research hotspots for AI in critically ill patients were mortality, model, and intensive care unit, with mortality having the highest burst strength (4.49). The keywords risk and system showed the highest growth trend (0.98) in counts over the past 4 years.ConclusionsThis study provides valuable insights into the potential for ACCP and future research opportunities. For AI-based clinical research to become widely accepted in critical care practice, collaborative research efforts are necessary to strengthen the maturity and robustness of AI-driven models using CNCs for display.

Project description:The interest in precision livestock farming (PLF)-a concept discussed for the first time in the early 2000s-has advanced considerably in recent years due to its important role in the development of sustainable livestock production systems. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the PLF literature is lacking. To address this gap, this study analyzed documents published from 2005 to 2021, aiming to understand the historical influences on technology adoption in livestock farming, identify future global trends, and examine shifts in scientific research on this topic. By using specific search terms in the Web of Science Core Collection, 886 publications were identified and analyzed using the bibliometrix R-package. The analysis revealed that the collection consisted mostly of research articles (74.6%) and reviews (10.4%). The top three core journals were the Journal of Dairy Science, Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, and Animals. Over time, the number of publications has steadily increased, with a higher growth rate in the last five years (29.0%) compared to the initial period (13.7%). Authors and institutions from multiple countries have contributed to the literature, with the USA, the Netherlands, and Italy leading in terms of publication numbers. The analysis also highlighted the growing interest in bovine production systems, emphasizing the importance of behavioral studies in PLF tool development. Automated milking systems were identified as central drivers of innovation in the PLF sector. Emerging themes for the future included "emissions" and "mitigation", indicating a focus on environmental concerns.

Project description:BackgroundResearch on Graves ophthalmopathy has increased remarkably over the last 2 decades; however, few statistical analyses of the data presented in these publications have been conducted.ObjectiveThis study aims to detect and analyze emerging trends and collaboration networks in Graves ophthalmopathy research.MethodsGraves ophthalmopathy-related publications from 1999 to 2019 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection Database. Collected publications were restricted by category (article or review) and language (English). Bibliometric analyses included changes in the annual numbers of publications, journals, authors, countries, institutions, keywords, and references.ResultsIn total, 3051 publications that met the criteria were collected. The number of annual publications has exhibited an increasing trend over the last 20 years. The journal Thyroid ranked first, publishing 183 Graves ophthalmopathy-related studies. There was no evidence of a relationship between impact factor (IF) and the number of publications (P=.69). The author Smith TJ had the largest number of publications on Graves ophthalmopathy (n=83). Of the countries that had published Graves ophthalmopathy-related articles, the United States had the largest number (n=784) and the highest centrality (0.18). Among institutions, the University of Pisa (Italy) contributed the most Graves ophthalmopathy-related articles (n=114). The most recent burst keywords (proliferation, rituximab, and selenium) and references may provide clues on emerging trends in research and clinical practice.ConclusionsThis bibliometric analysis highlights countries, institutions, and authors who contributed to Graves ophthalmopathy-related publications. Emerging trends in Graves ophthalmopathy research, based on burst keywords and references, may provide clues relevant to clinical practice and future research.
