Improved Draft Genome Sequence of Microbacterium sp. Strain LKL04, a Bacterial Endophyte Associated with Switchgrass Plants.

ABSTRACT: We report here the genome assembly and analysis of Microbacterium strain sp. LKL04, a Gram-positive bacterial endophyte isolated from switchgrass plants (Panicum virgatum) grown on a reclaimed coal-mining site. The 2.9-Mbp genome of this bacterium was assembled into a single contig encoding 2,806 protein coding genes.

Draft genome sequence data of Microbacterium sp. strain Be9 isolated from uranium-mill tailings porewaters.

Project description:Microbacterium are Gram-positive, nonspore-forming, rod-shaped bacteria inhabiting a wide range of environments including soil, water, dairy products, other living organisms, etc. Microbacterium sp. strain Be9, isolated from mill tailings porewaters in France, shows a remarkable behavior in presence of uranium under distinct conditions, which is the main reason for the interest in sequencing its genome. In this work, we describe the draft genome sequence of Be9, comprising 4,046,806 bp, with a G+C content of 68.10% and containing 3,947 protein-coding sequences. The preliminary genome annotation analysis identified some genes encoding for resistance to antibiotics and toxic compounds like heavy metals. This draft genome has been deposited at DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession PRJNA590666.

Project description:Here, we present the draft genome sequence of Bacillus sp. strain MHSD28 which was sequenced, and assembled with a total length of 5,571,729 bp. The genome has 43 contigs, the largest contig with 1,785,042 bp, N50 of 1,474,247 bp, G + C% content of 35.23%. The strain was isolated from surface sterilized leaves of Dicoma anomala, obtained in Limpopo province, South Africa. The genome has 5792 total genes which include 5701 protein coding sequences (CDS), 192 pseudogenes, 7 rRNA genes with 3 operons (5S, 16S and 23S), 79 tRNA genes and 5 noncoding RNA (ncRNA) genes. This whole genome shotgun project has been deposited in DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under accession number VHIV00000000. The version described in this paper is version VHIV01000000.

Draft Genome Sequence of Pseudarthrobacter phenanthrenivorans Strain MHSD1, a Bacterial Endophyte Isolated From the Medicinal Plant Pellaea calomelanos.

Project description:Pseudarthrobacter phenanthrenivorans strain MHSD1 is a bacterial endophyte isolated from sterilized leaves of Pellaea calomelanos, a medicinal plant capable of growing in arid environments. Here, we report the draft genome sequence and annotation of this bacterial endophyte. The draft genome sequence of P. phenanthrenivorans strain MHSD1 has 4?450?468?bp with a G?+?C content of 65.30%. The National Center for Biotechnology Information Prokaryotic Genome Annotation Pipeline identified a total of 4004 protein-coding genes, 56 genes coding for RNAs, and 82 pseudogenes. Biosynthesis pathways for various phytohormones such as auxin, salicylic acid, ethylene, cytokinin, jasmonic acid, abscisic acid, and gibberellins were identified. Putative genes involved in various characteristics of bacterial endophyte lifestyle such as transport, motility, adhesion, membrane proteins, secretion and delivery systems, plant cell wall modification, and detoxification were identified. Phylogenomic analysis showed P. phenanthrenivorans strain MHSD1 to be a subspecies of P. phenanthrenivorans Sphe3.
