Trichothecenes are sesquiterpenoid mycotoxins produced by fungi from the order Hypocreales, including members of the <i>Fusarium</i> genus that infect cereal grain crops. Different trichothecene-producing <i>Fusarium</i> species and strains have different trichothecene chemotypes belonging to the Type A and B class.
