RpoS is a key regulator of general stress responses in <i>Escherichia coli</i>. Its expression is post-transcriptionally up-regulated by the small RNAs (sRNAs), ArcZ, DsrA and RprA, through sRNA-<i>rpoS</i> mRNA interactions.
