<i>Solanum hydroides</i> Gouvêa & Giacomin, <b>sp. nov.</b>, is described from central Brazilian Atlantic Forest. It is known from only three localities in Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais states, where granitic/gneissic outcrops (inselbergs or sugar loaves) are ubiquitous.
