The fungal class 1 lysine deacetylase (KDAC) RpdA is a promising target for prevention and treatment of invasive fungal infection. RpdA is essential for survival of the most common air-borne mold pathogen <i>Aspergillus fumigatus</i> and the model organism <i>Aspergillus nidulans</i>.
