Despite being among the largest turtles that ever lived, the biology and systematics of <i>Stupendemys geographicus</i> remain largely unknown because of scant, fragmentary finds. We describe exceptional specimens and new localities of <i>S. geographicus</i> from the Miocene of Venezuela and Colombia.
