Sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) is a key enzyme in sucrose synthesis, which controls sucrose content in plants. This study was designed to examine the efficacy of the overexpression of <i>SoSPS1</i> gene on sucrose accumulation and carbon partitioning in transgenic sugarcane.
