ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C13H15N3O5S, the two rings face each other in a 'V' form at the S atom, with one N-H?O=S and one C-H?O=S contact from the pyrazolyl substituents to the sulfonyl group. Two classical hydrogen bonds from the amine group, one of the form N-H?O=S and one N-H?O=Coxo, link the mol-ecules to form layers parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:In the title compound, C14H17N3O3, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the five-membered di-hydro-pyrazole ring is 52.26 (9)°. The ethyl ester group is approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation 0.0568 Å) and subtends an angle 67.73 (8)° to the pyrazole ring. In the crystal, molecules are linked by pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with an R 2 (2)(10) ring motif. Weaker C-H⋯O contacts link these dimers into a three-dimensional network of mol-ecules stacked along the a-axis direction. Offset π-π stacking inter-actions between the benzene rings [centroid-to-centroid distance = 3.8832 (12) Å] further stabilize the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, C19H19N3O2, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. In mol-ecule A, the pyrazole ring adopts a slightly disordered half-chair conformation while in B it is planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0386?(15)?Å]. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the two phenyl rings is 56.2?(8) in A and 38.2?(3)° in B. The N-phenyl substituent on the pyrazole ring is twisted by 46.5?(2) in A and 58.6?(4)° in B while the extended phenyl ring is twisted by 82.2?(8) in A and 87.5?(9)° in B. Project description:The title compound, 2C14H14N4O·H2O, comprises a neutral mol-ecule containing a central pyrazol-3-one ring flanked by an N-bound phenyl group and a C-bound 5-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl group (at positions adjacent to the carbonyl substituent), its zwitterionic tautomer, whereby the N-bound proton of the central ring is now resident on the pendant ring, and a water mol-ecule of crystallization. Besides systematic variations in geometric parameters, the two independent organic mol-ecules have broadly similar conformations, as seen in the dihedral angle between the five-membered rings [9.72 (9)° for the neutral mol-ecule and 3.32 (9)° for the zwitterionic tautomer] and in the dihedral angles between the central and pendant five-membered rings [28.19 (8) and 20.96 (8)° (neutral mol-ecule); 11.33 (9) and 11.81 (9)°]. In the crystal, pyrazolyl-N-H⋯O(carbon-yl) and pyrazolium-N-H⋯N(pyrazol-yl) hydrogen bonds between the independent organic mol-ecules give rise to non-symmetric nine-membered {⋯HNNH⋯NC3O} and {⋯HNN⋯HNC3O} synthons, which differ in the positions of the N-bound H atoms. These aggregates are connected into a supra-molecular layer in the bc plane by water-O-H⋯N(pyrazolide), water-O-H⋯O(carbon-yl) and pyrazolyl-N-H⋯O(water) hydrogen bonding. The layers are linked into a three-dimensional architecture by methyl-C-H⋯π(phen-yl) inter-actions. The different inter-actions, in particular the weaker contacts, formed by the organic mol-ecules are clearly evident in the calculated Hirshfeld surfaces, and the calculated electrostatic potentials differentiate the tautomers.

The structure determination confirms that the title compound is N- rather than O-alkyl-ated.
