Gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) is a disease of older adults and is dominated by <i>KIT</i>/<i>PDGFR</i> mutations. In children, GIST is rare, predominantly occurs in girls, has a stomach location and generally lacks <i>KIT</i>/<i>PDGFR</i> mutations.
