Project description:SHAPE-MaP structure probing experiment was performed on SARS-CoV-2 infected Vero cells at 4 days post infection with two biological replicates. For each replciate, SHAPE-MaP includes a sample treated with 2-methylnicotinic acid imidazolide acid (modified) or a minue reagent (unmodified). NAI preferentially reacts with unpaired bases in RNA, forming acylated bases. These modifications are encoded as mutation during reverse transcripatse and library preparation. After sequencing and alignment, the reactivity profiles of 'modified' and 'unmodified' samples are used to calculate SHAPE reactivity of each base

SARS-CoV-2 Genome Sequence Obtained from Ethiopia.

Project description:The coding-complete severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) genome sequences from 15 nasopharyngeal swabs collected in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, during the period from December 2020 to March 2021 were determined using Illumina MiSeq technology. A sequence analysis identified that the B.1 SARS-CoV-2 lineage was most prevalent with the worrying emergence of B.1.1.7 in June 2021.

The whole-genome sequence of the strain was 29,751 bp. According to the results of phylogenetic analysis (according to the Pangolin COVID-19 database), the SARS-CoV-2/human/KAZ/B1.1/2021 strain studied here was assigned to variant B.1.1.
