Epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV) is a genodermatosis related to human beta-papillomavirus (beta-HPV), with a high risk of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC). Claudins are transmembrane proteins expressed in epithelia and may be altered during carcinogenesis.
