The metallobiochemistry underlying the formation of the inorganic N-N-bond-containing molecules nitrous oxide (N<sub>2</sub>O), dinitrogen (N<sub>2</sub>), and hydrazine (N<sub>2</sub>H<sub>4</sub>) is essential to the lifestyles of diverse organisms.
