<h4>Objective</h4>Macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) is a life-threatening complication of systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA) characterised by a vicious cycle of immune amplification that can culminate in overwhelming inflammation and multiorgan failure.
