ABSTRACT: Abstract Highlights • The accumulation of Advanced Glycation End-products in the tissues studied as a marker of metabolic memory.• Skin autofluorescence as a marker of glycemic memory in type 2 diabetes.• Skin autofluorescence was independently related to their most ancient HbA1c.• Skin autofluorescence was higher in subjects with microangiopathic complications.
