Severe drought events are known to cause important reductions of gross primary productivity (<i>GPP</i>) in forest ecosystems. However, it is still unclear whether this reduction originates from stomatal closure (Stomatal Origin Limitation) and/or non-stomatal limitations (Non-SOL).
