Complete Genome Sequences of Lactobacillus Strains C25 and P38, Isolated from Chicken Cecum.

ABSTRACT: We report the complete circular genome sequences of Lactobacillus crispatus strain C25, its plasmid, and Lactobacillus animalis strain P38; both strains were isolated from the cecum of 4-week-old chickens. These isolates represent potential probiotic strains for poultry.

Project description:A novel bacterium, Megasphaera stantonii (strain AJH120T), was isolated from the cecum of a chicken during a screen for microorganisms using a brain heart infusion (BHI) medium. PacBio and Illumina MiSeq sequencing technologies were used to produce a single contiguous chromosome. The resulting genome sequence is 2,652,760 bp long with a 52.62% GC content.

Project description:We report the circularized complete genome sequences, containing a circular chromosome and two circular plasmids, of strains SalSpp05 (4.9 Mbp) and SalSpp10 (4.8 Mbp), which were isolated from chicken carcass rinse water samples; the sequences were obtained by combining Oxford Nanopore Technologies long-read data and Illumina short-read data. Whole-genome alignments indicated that both strains belong to Salmonella enterica.
