An unusual new omaliine species, <i>Anthobium alekseevi</i> <b>sp. nov.</b>, is described and illustrated from Eocene Baltic amber, tentatively placed in the megadiverse genus <i>Anthobium</i> Leach, 1819. A new monotypic species-group is established.
