<i>Francisella tularensis</i> (<i>F. tularensis</i>) is an intracellular pathogen that causes a potentially debilitating febrile illness known as tularemia. <i>F. tularensis</i> can be spread by aerosol transmission and cause fatal pneumonic tularemia.
