Complete Genome Sequence of Staphylococcus aureus EDCC 5398, a Clinical Isolate from Implant-Associated Bone Infection.


ABSTRACT: Here, we report the high-quality complete genome sequence of Staphylococcus aureus EDCC 5398, which was isolated from a patient with implant-associated bone infection. The assembled genome consists of 2,843,534?bp, with a G+C content of 33%; it has 2,739 coding sequences, belongs to sequence type 22, and contains mecA and balz genes, which contribute to methicillin resistance.
