Wilms tumor gene 1 (WT1) is an important gene which is involved in growth and development of many organs. It is identified as a tumor suppressor gene in nephroblastoma. However, its role as a tumor oncogene has been highlighted by many studies in haematological as well as non haematological malignant neoplasm.
