<i>Gentiana apiata</i> N. E. Brown (Gentianaceae) is a perennial herb plant and only grows in Qinba Mountains in China. Here, we first characterized the complete nucleotide sequence of chloroplast (cp) genome of <i>G. apiata</i> via Illumina next generation sequencing platform.
