Symmetric echo-planar spectroscopic imaging (EPSI) supports higher spectral bandwidth and improves signal-to-noise efficiency compared to flyback EPSI with the same readout bandwidth, but suffers from artifacts that are associated with non-uniform temporal sampling in k-t space.
