The first complete chloroplast genome sequence of Vicia ramuliflora (Fabaceae).

ABSTRACT: Vicia ramuliflora belongs to the Fabaceae. It is a perennial herb, with high economic value. The cpDNA of V. ramuliflora was 124,682 bp long with IR loss. It contains 109 genes, including 76 protein-coding genes, 29 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes. The overall GC content is 35.1%. The phylogenetic tree indicates that Vicia species formed a monophyletic lineage with high bootstrap value. This study has provided new genome information for the phylogenetic analysis of Fabaceae.

Project description:Acacia crassicarpa (Fabaceae), a nitrogen-fixing tree species, is critically important for coastal protection in southeast China. In this study, we report the complete chloroplast genome sequence of A. crassicarpa, with a length of 176,493 bp. It contains a pair of inverted repeats (IR 39,851 bp), a large single-copy region (LSC 91,869 bp), and a small single-copy region (SSC 4,922 bp). The complete genome comprises 138 genes, including 93 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA, and 8 rRNA genes. Our phylogenetic analysis reveals that A. crassicarpa is closely related to A. podalyriifolia and A. dealbata.

Project description:Butea monosperma, an importantmedicinal plantin Fabaceae, is mainly distributed in southern Asia. In this study, we reported the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of B. monosperma assembled with Illumina sequencing data. The whole cp genome of this species is 151,925 bp in length, consisting of two inverted repeat regions (IR, 25,083 bp), one large single-copy region (LSC, 83,541 bp), and one small single-copy region (SSC, 18,218 bp).A total of 128 genes were annotated for the chloroplast genome, including 83 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNAs and 8 rRNAs. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that B. monosperma was closely related to the genus Lespedeza.

The whole chloroplast genome was 122,461 base pairs in length with 110 genes, including 76 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNAs, and 4 rRNAs. In addition, the atpF intron was absent. Maximum-likelihood (ML) phylogenetic analysis indicated that O. bicolor and species of Astragalus were closely related, which is congruent with previous studies.

In this study, the complete chloroplast genome of Nanhaia speciosa was sequenced and assembled. The chloroplast genome of N. speciosa was 132,551bp in length including only one copy of the inverted repeat (IR). It encoded a total of 110 genes, containing 76 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA and 4 rRNA. The overall GC content was 34.1%. Phylogenetic analysis using a matrix of 69 protein-coding genes illustrated that N. speciosa is most closely related to Wisteriopsis reticulata of tribe Wisterieae.

In this study, we sequenced the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of H. wallichii to investigate its phylogenetic relationship in Fabaceae. The total length of the cp genome was 153,668 bp, consisted of a large single copy (LSC) region of 84,310 bp, a small single copy (SSC) region of 17,918 bp, and a pair of inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 25,720 bp. The genome contained 132 genes, namely 37 tRNA genes, 87 protein-coding genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The overall GC content was 35.4%. The phylogenetic analysis indicated H. wallichii was closely related to Pueraria montana var. thomsonii and Pueraria montana var. lobata.

Project description:Vicia cracca L. is a widespread perennial herb in the Northern Hemisphere. It has purple flowers and leave tendrils for climbing on neighboring vegetation. For knowing the chloroplast genome, a sample's genomic was extracted, sequenced, assembled and annotated. The chloroplast genome of this plant is a circular form of 126,272bp in length with IR loss. After annotation, a total of 108 genes were predicted, of which, 75 encode proteins, 3 rRNA, 30 tRNA. The evolutionary history, inferred using Maximum Likelihood method, indicates that V. cracca was grouped within Vicia in Fabaceae. The complete cp genome will be helpful for further studies on molecular biology, evolution, population genetics, taxonomy or resources protection.

The complete chloroplast genome of Aganope dinghuensis (Fabaceae).

Project description:Aganope is a genus in the family Fabaceae, with only 11 species. They are distributed throughout Asia and Africa. Aganope dinghuensis, a newly reported species, is native to China with a restricted distribution. We, therefore, report its complete chloroplast genome for better future conservation. The chloroplast genome of A. dinghuensis is 143,690 bp, with a GC content of 35.32%. In the genome, a pair of inverted repeat regions of 13,015 bp each, a large single-copy region of 98,824 bp, and a small single-copy region of 18,836 bp were identified. Genome annotation identified 115 genes, comprising 74 protein-coding genes, 8 ribosomal RNA genes, and 33 transfer RNA genes. Repeat analysis indicates that the chloroplast genome of A. dinghuensis contains 126 simple sequence repeats (SSR), of which the majority are A/T mononucleotides. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that A. dinghuensis is a sister to the clade that includes Indigofera tinctoria, Desmodium uncinatum, Sarcodum scandens, Wisteria brachybotrys, and Callerya nitida.

Project description:Desmodium uncinatum is one of the most important legume forage which distributes in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. In our study, we obtained the complete chloroplast genome of D. uncinatum with a length of 148,853 bp, including a large single copy region of 84,019 bp, small single copy region of 18,223 bp, and a pair of inverted repeat regions of 20,672 bp. The GC content in the whole chloroplast genome of D. uncinatum is 35.16%. Among the 133 unique genes in the circular genome, 37 tRNA, 12 rRNA and 84 protein-coding genes were successfully annotated. We constructed the Maximum likelihood (ML) tree with 11 species, and came to the conclusion that D. uncinatum was phylogenetically closely related to the genus of Glycine and Trifolium.
