The retinoblastoma tumour suppressor protein (RB) regulates a number of diverse cellular functions including differentiation, angiogenesis, chromatin remodelling, senescence and apoptosis. The best-characterised function of RB is cell cycle regulation, and it has been considered a phosphoprotein regulated by cyclin-dependent kinases.
