Previous studies demonstrate that <i>Mycobacterium vaccae</i> NCTC 11659 (<i>M. vaccae</i>), a soil-derived bacterium with anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory properties, is a potentially useful countermeasure against negative outcomes to stressors.
