Transactivation response DNA-binding protein of 43 kDa (TDP-43) is a major constituent of cytoplasmic aggregates in neuronal and glial cells in cases of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD).
