During the years, many usnic acid (UA) conjugates have been synthesized to obtain potent endowed with biological properties. Since (<i>S</i>)-UA is less abundant in nature than (<i>R</i>)-enantiomer, it is difficult to source, thus precluding a deeper investigation.
