Indirect detection of intermediate in decarboxylation reaction of phenylglyoxylic acid by hyperpolarized 13C NMR.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The decarboxylation reaction of phenylglyoxylic acid with hydrogen peroxide is studied by real-time hyperpolarized carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR) spectroscopy at room temperature. A non-observable reaction intermediate is identified using blind selective saturation pulses in the expected chemical shift range, thereby revealing information on the reaction mechanism.
