A novel series of copper-activatable drugs intended for use against methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) were synthesized, characterized, and tested against the MSSA strain Newman and the MRSA Lac strain (a USA300 strain), respectively.
