In order to replace the huge amounts of copper salts used in citrus orchards, alternatives have been sought in the form of organic compounds of natural origin with activity against the causative agent of citrus canker, the phytopathogen <i>Xanthomonas citri</i> subsp. <i>Citri</i>.
