<i>Heterodera dunensis</i> n. sp. from the coastal dunes of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, is described. This new species belongs to the <i>Schachtii</i> group of <i>Heterodera</i> with ambifenestrate fenestration, presence of prominent bullae, and a strong underbridge of cysts.
