The surface mineralogy of dwarf planet Ceres is rich in ammonium (NH<sub>4</sub><sup>+</sup>) bearing phyllosilicates. However, the origin and formation mechanisms of ammoniated phyllosilicates on Ceres's surface are still elusive.
