Draft genome sequence data of Streptomyces sp. FH025.

ABSTRACT: The genome data of Streptomyces sp. FH025 comprised of 8,381,474 bp with a high GC content of 72.51%. The genome contains 7035 coding sequences spanning 1261 contigs. Streptomyces sp. FH025 contains 57 secondary metabolite gene clusters including polyketide synthase, nonribosomal polyketide synthase and other biosynthetic pathways such as amglyccycl, butyrolactone, terpenes, siderophores, lanthipeptide-class-iv, and ladderane. 16S rRNA analysis of Streptomyces sp. FH025 is similar to the Streptomyces genus. This whole genome project has been deposited at NCBI under the accession JAFLNG000000000.

Draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. TP-A0867, an alchivemycin producer.

Project description:Streptomyces sp. TP-A0867 (=NBRC 109436) produces structurally complex polyketides designated alchivemycins A and B. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of this strain together with features of the organism and assembly, annotation, and analysis of the genome sequence. The 9.9 Mb genome of Streptomyces sp. TP-A0867 encodes 8,385 putative ORFs, of which 7,232 were assigned with COG categories. We successfully identified a hybrid polyketide synthase (PKS)/ nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) gene cluster that could be responsible for alchivemycin biosynthesis, and propose the biosynthetic pathway. The alchivemycin biosynthetic gene cluster is also present in Streptomyces rapamycinicus NRRL 5491T, Streptomyces hygroscopicus subsp. hygroscopicus NBRC 16556, and Streptomyces ascomycinicus NBRC 13981T, which are taxonomically highly close to strain TP-A0867. This study shows a representative example that distribution of secondary metabolite genes is correlated with evolution within the genus Streptomyces.

Draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. KD18, isolated from industrial soil.

Project description:The present study scrutinizes the presence of Streptomyces strains in the soil sample collected from industrial area of Bahadurgarh (Haryana) India. The morphological approach manifested the isolated strain belong to Streptomyces species and named as Streptomyces sp. KD18. Sequencing of Streptomyces sp. KD18 genome was performed by Illumina Nextseq500 platform. 65 contigs were generated via SPAdes v3.11.1 and harboured genome size of 7.2 Mb. AntiSMASH server revealed the presence of 25 biosynthetic gene clusters in KD18 genome where BGC of lipstatin was of more interest from industrial and pharmaceutical purpose. The draft genome sequence represented via ANI values claimed that the KD18 strain belongs to Streptomyces toxytricini and finally named as S. toxytricini KD18. The LC-MS analysis of the extracted metabolite confirmed the production of lipstatin.
