Methylmalonic acidemia (MMA) is a severe metabolic disorder most commonly caused by a mutation in the methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (<i>MMUT</i>) gene. Patients with MMA experience multisystemic disease manifestations and remain at risk for neurological disease progression, even after liver transplantation.
