Emerging investigator series: Aramid amphiphile nanoribbons for the remediation of lead from contaminated water.

ABSTRACT: Self-assembled nanoribbons from small molecule amphiphiles with chelating head groups and a structural domain to impart mechanical stability are reported for the remediation of lead from contaminated water. The nanoribbons' remediation capacity is affected by pH and the presence of competing cations, and can be modulated by head group choice.
