Project description:Background: Antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) is a promising therapy for solid cancer that has raised global concern. Although several papers have reviewed the current state of ADCs in different solid cancers, a quantitative analysis of the publications in this field is scarce. Methods: Publications related to ADC in the field of solid cancer were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection. Data analyses were performed with VOSviewer 1.6.9, HistCite 2.1, CiteSpace V and R package Bibliometrix. Results: A total of 3,482 records were obtained in the holistic field and 1,197 in the clinical field. Steady growth in the number of publications was observed. The United States was the leading contributor in this field. Krop IE was the most influential author. The most productive institution was Genentech Inc., while Mem Sloan Kettering Canc Ctr was the most cited one. The most impactful journal was the Journal of Clinical Oncology. A total of 37 burst references and five burst references were identified between 2017-2022 in the holistic and clinical fields, respectively. Keywords analysis indicated that ADCs research mainly involved breast cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, ovarian cancer, small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, gastric cancer, and urothelial carcinoma. ADC agents including trastuzumab emtansine, trastuzumab deruxtecan, sacituzumab govitecan, enfortumab vedotin, and rovalpituzumab tesirine were highly studied. Targets including HER2, trophoblast cell-surface antigen, mesothelin, delta-like ligand 3, and nectin-4 were the major concerns. Conclusion: This study analyzed publications concerning ADCs in the field of solid cancer with bibliometric analysis. Further clinical trials of ADCs and designs of the next generation of ADCs are the current focuses of the field. Acquired resistance of ADCs and biomarkers for ADC therapy efficacy monitoring are future concerns.

Project description:Glioma-associated macrophage/microglia (GAM) represents a key player in shaping a unique glioma ecosystem to facilitate tumor progression and therapeutic resistance. Numerous studies have been published concerning GAM, but no relevant bibliometric study has been performed yet. Our bibliometric study aimed to comprehensively summarize and analyze the global scientific output, research hotspots, and trendy topics of publications on GAM over time. Data on publications on GAM were collected using the Web of Science (WoS). The search date was 16 January 2022, and the publications were collected from 2002 to 2021. Totally, 1,224 articles and reviews were incorporated and analyzed in the current study. It showed that the annual publications concerning GAM kept increasing over the past 20 years. The United States had the largest number of publications and total citations. Holland, Kettenmann, and Gutmann were the top three authors in terms of citation frequency. Neuro-oncology represented the most influential journal in GAM studies, with the highest H-index, total citations, and publication numbers. The paper published by Hambardzumyan in 2016 had the highest local citations. Additionally, the analysis of keywords implied that "prognosis," "tumor microenvironment," and "immunotherapy" might become research hotspots. Furthermore, trendy topics in GAM studies suggested that "immune infiltration," "immune microenvironment," "bioinformatics," "prognosis," and "immunotherapy" deserved additional attention. In conclusion, this bibliometric study comprehensively analyzed the publication trend of GAM studies for the past 20 years, in which the research hotspots and trendy topics were also uncovered. This information offered scholars critical references for conducting in-depth studies on GAM in the future.

Project description:BackgroundKeloids remain troublesome for clinicians because of the lack of standard therapy, and the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. Bibliometric analysis could be a powerful tool to comprehensively review research trends, evaluate publication performances and provide future perspectives. There is no bibliometric analysis focusing on keloid research.MethodsKeloid related publications were searched in Web of Science Core Collection from the publication year 1990 to 2019. Bibliometric data were provided on document type, annual publication number, most productive journals, publication geography, top potential authors, and highly cited articles. The distribution of single words in article titles was analyzed to evaluate the main research focuses and determine their development trends. Word cluster analysis was further performed to detect emerging trends in keloid research.ResultsThe number of annual articles increased from 24 in 1990 to 63 in 2006 and then increased sharply, reaching 139 in 2019. Dermatologic Surgery published the highest number of articles followed by Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The USA ranked top with six publication indicators and China had a dramatic increase in the annual number of articles since 2012. Recent research hotspots include underlying pathogenetic mechanisms, keloid treatment, and therapeutic effect evaluation.DiscussionKeloids remain a research focus. Efforts will be continuously made to understand the underlying mechanism of keloid formation. Despite many treatment modalities, there is no gold standard for keloid treatment, and many efforts are being made in the exploration of new therapies. Moreover, it is foreseeable that objective measurement tools will have a higher status in the assessment of keloids and scars.

Project description:Pregnancy and childbirth are major life events for women and their families, characterized by physical, psychological, and emotional changes that can trigger anxiety, depression, and mental disorders in susceptible individuals. Acute labor pain is an independent risk factor for persistent pain in the postpartum period and is associated with depressive disorders. Epidural analgesia is a well-established technique that has commonly been regarded as the gold standard in pain management during labor. Although the relationships between labor pain, labor epidural analgesia, and postpartum depression have been studied by many investigators, the results of these studies are conflicting. Some literature suggest that labor epidural analgesia is associated with a reduction in the incidence of postpartum depression; however, other studies have failed to demonstrate this association. Unmet analgesic needs expectations, unmet birth expectations, and/or the quality of social support during labor may contribute to postpartum depression. The limitations of the published studies included differential misclassification of study variables and residual confounding, variations in the diagnosis of depression, and incomplete history data. Thus, future studies should include information on sociodemographic and patient-level variables and assessments of pain during labor or in the postpartum period. Better management of labor pain should be provided to prevent long-term morbidity and improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. Anesthesiologists could collaboratively work with obstetricians and perinatal psychiatrists to ensure that hospitals prioritize screening and treatment for postpartum depression.

Project description:IntroductionOsteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a progressive and disabling disease with severe socioeconomic burdens. In the last 30 years, a growing number of publications have reported significant advances in understanding ONFH. However, only a few studies have clarified its global trends and current status. Thus, the purpose of our study was to summarize the global trends and current status in ONFH through bibliometrics.Materials and methodsPublications related to ONFH from 1991 to 2020 were searched from the Web of Science (WOS) core collection database. The data were analyzed with bibliometric methods. Microsoft Excel was used for statistical analysis and to draw bar charts. SPSS was applied to perform linear regression analysis. VOSviewer was used to conduct bibliographic coupling analysis, co-authorship analysis, co-citation analysis and co-occurrence analysis.ResultsA total of 5,523 publications were covered. The United States consistently ranked first in total publications, sum of times cited, average citations per item and H-index. Kyushu University was the main contributor to ONFH. Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research was the major publishing channels for ONFH-related articles. Takuaki Yamamoto published the most ONFH-related articles. Studies regarding ONFH could be divided into five clusters: 1) mechanism study, 2) treatment study, 3) complication study, 4) radiological study and 5) etiological study. Mechanism study might become a hot spot in the future.ConclusionsThe total number of publications in ONFH has generally increased over the last three decades. The United States was the leading country in ONFH research. Transplantation, engineering, cell and molecular biology, pharmacology and endocrinology have gradually increased and become hot topics in ONFH research. Mechanism study in ONFH including mesenchymal stem cells, apoptosis, oxidative stress, adipogenesis, osteogenic differentiation and endothelial progenitor cells, have attracted more attention and will become a hot spot in the future.

Project description:AbstractRecent research has suggested that 6 cm of cervical dilation should be the threshold for the active labor phase, and it has confirmed that epidural analgesia (EA) is a safe method of pain relief during labor. However, the evidence provided for these findings comes mainly from randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs), which suffer from the limitation of real-world generalizability.To test the generalizability of the conclusions from these previous RCTs, we conducted a prospective cohort, real-world study (RWS) on 400 Chinese term nulliparas. A total of 200 of the participants (the EA group) received EA upon request. The participants in the EA group were further subdivided as follows according to their cervical dilation when the EA administration was initiated (CDE): [EA1 group (CDE < 3 cm), EA2 group (3 cm ≤ CDE < 6 cm), and EA3 group (CDE ≥ 6 cm)]. We compared the labor duration of the EA group versus the non-EA (NEA) group, and the NEA group versus the 3 EA subgroups. We also compared delivery outcomes between the EA and NEA groups.The median total labor duration for the EA group [676 (511-923) minutes] was significantly longer than that of the NEA group [514 (373-721) minutes] (P < 0.001). The median durations of both the first- and second-stages of labor for the EA group [600 (405-855) minutes, 68 (49-97) minutes] were longer than those of the NEA group [420 (300-630) minutes, 50 (32-85) minutes] (P < .001, P < .001)]. In addition, the median total labor durations in both the EA1 [720 (548-958) minutes] and EA2 groups [688 (534-926) minutes] were longer than in the NEA group (P < .001 and P < .001, respectively), and the first- and second-stage labor durations of these subgroups were similar to their total labor durations. A Cox regression analysis showed that EA was associated with longer first-stage labor [hazard ratio (HR) 0.55, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.42-0.71, P < .001] and longer second-stage labor (HR 0.66, 95% CI 0.51-0.85, P = .001). The delivery modes and neonatal outcomes between the EA and NEA groups were not statistically different, however.Our findings suggest that EA administered before a cervical dilation of 6 cm may be associated with longer total, first-, and second-stage labor durations compared with no EA, while later EA administration is not. In addition, though EA prolongs labor duration, it does not impact delivery outcomes. These results confirm the significance of a 6 cm cervical dilation threshold in real-world labor settings.
