Vitreoscilla massiliensis sp. nov., Isolated From the Stool of an Amazonian Patient.

ABSTRACT: Strain SN6^T is a non-motile and non-spore-forming gram-negative bacterium which was isolated from the stool sample of an Amazonian patient. The optimum growth was observed at 37 °C, pH 7, and 0-5 g/l of NaCl. Based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity, the strain SN6^T exhibited 97.5% identity with Vitreoscilla stercoraria strain ATCC_15218 (L06174), the phylogenetically closest species with standing in nomenclature. The predominant fatty acid was hexadecenoic acid (31%). The genomic DNA G + C content of the strain SN6^T was 49.4 mol %. After analysis of taxonogenomic data, phenotypic and biochemical characteristics, we concluded that strain SN6^T represents a new species of the genus Vitreoscilla for which the name Vitreoscilla massiliensis sp.nov is proposed. The type strain is SN6^T (=CSUR P2036 = LN870312 = DSM 100958).

Project description:Strain Marseille-P3237 was isolated from a stool sample of a healthy 35-year-old Congolese pygmy female. This anaerobic, Gram-negative, non-spore-forming and non-motile coccus-shaped bacterium is a member of the order Coriobacteriales. It exhibits a 2 009 306-bp genome with a 65.46 mol% G+C content and is closely related to, but distinct from, members of the Olsenella genus. We propose the creation of the new genus Libanicoccus gen. nov. and of the new species Libanicoccus massiliensis sp. nov.

Taxono-genomics and description of Gordonibacter massiliensis sp. nov., a new bacterium isolated from stool of healthy patient.

Project description:Using the taxono-genomics concept, we describe here a strictly anaerobic Gram-positive bacillus. This strain was isolated from the stool sample of a 50-year-old healthy Bedouin woman. The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis and the whole-genome sequencing showed that this isolate belonged to the genus Gordonibacter in the family Eggerthellaceae. Based on these criteria, we propose the creation of Gordonibacter massiliensis sp. nov., strain Marseille-P2775T (= CSUR P2775).

Taxonogenomics of Culturomica massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov., and Emergencia timonensis gen. nov., sp. nov. new bacteria isolated from human stool microbiota.

Project description:Two new bacterial strains, Marseille-P2698T (CSUR P2698 = DSM 103,121) and Marseille-P2260T (CSUR P2260 = DSM 101,844 = SN18), were isolated from human stools by the culturomic method. We used the taxonogenomic approach to fully describe these two new bacterial strains. The Marseille-P2698T strain was a Gram-negative, motile, non-spore-forming, rod-shaped bacterium. The Marseille-P2260T strain was a Gram-positive, motile, spore-forming rod-shaped bacterium. Major fatty acids found in Marseille-P2698T were C15:0 iso (63%), C15:0 anteiso (11%), and C17:0 3-OH iso (8%). Those found in Marseille-P2260T strain were C16:00 (39%), C18:1n9 (16%) and C18:1n7 (14%). Strains Marseille-P2698T and Marseille-P2260T had 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities of 91.50% with Odoribacter laneusT, and of 90.98% and 95.07% with Odoribacter splanchnicusT and Eubacterium sulciT, respectively. The exhibited digital DNA-DNA Hybridization values lower than 20.7%, and Orthologous Average Nucleotide Identity values lower than 73% compared to their closest related bacterial species O. splanchnicusT and E. sulciT respectively. Phenotypic, biochemical, phylogenetic, and genomic results obtained by comparative analyses provided sufficient evidence that both of the two studied strains Marseille-P2698T and Marseille-P2260T are two new bacterial species and new bacterial genera for which the names Culturomica massiliensis gen. nov., sp. nov., and Emergencia timonensis gen. nov., sp. nov. were proposed, respectively.

Parabacteroides massiliensis sp. nov., a new bacterium isolated from a fresh human stool specimen.

Project description:Parabacteroides massiliensis sp. nov., strain Marseille-P2231T (= CSURP2231 = DSM 101860) is a new species within the family Tannerellaceae. It was isolated from a stool specimen of a 25-year-old healthy woman. Its genome was 5 013 798 bp long with a 45.7 mol% G+C content. The closest species based on 16S rRNA sequence was Parabacteroides merdae strain JCM 9497T with 98.19% sequence similarity. Considering phenotypic features and comparative genome studies, we proposed the strain Marseille-P2231T as the type strain of Parabacteroides massiliensis sp. nov., a new species within the genus Parabacteroides.

Anaerotruncus massiliensis sp. nov., a succinate-producing bacterium isolated from human stool from an obese patient after bariatric surgery.

Project description:A new bacterium, strain AT3T, was isolated by microbial culturomics from a faecal sample from a Frenchman after bariatric surgery. The isolate exhibited 96.6% 16S ribosomal RNA gene nucleotide sequence similarity with Anaerotruncus colihominis strain WAL 14565T = CCUG 45055T = CIP 107754T. Phenotypic and genomic characteristics showed that the new strain represents a novel species, for which the name Anaerotruncus massiliensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is strain AT3T = CSUR P2007T = DSM 100567T.
