Femorbiona gen. nov., a new genus of sac spiders (Araneae, Clubionidae) from Southeast Asia.

ABSTRACT: A new genus of Clubionidae Wagner, 1887, Femorbiona Yu & Li, gen. nov., is described, with Clubiona brachyptera Zhu & Chen, 2012 (♂♀; Hainan, China) as the type species. Three species are included in Femorbiona gen. nov.: F. brachyptera comb. nov., F. phami Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀; Hai Phong, Vietnam), and F. shenzhen Yu & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀; Guangdong, China).

Project description:A new genus of the subfamily Coelotinae F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1893, Yunguiriusgen. nov. is described, comprising two new species and three species previously described in Draconarius Ovtchinnikov, 1999, all from southwest China: Y.duogesp. nov. (♀), Y.xiangdingsp. nov. (♀), Y.ornatus (Wang, Yin, Peng & Xie, 1990) comb. nov. (♂♀) (the type species of Yunguiriusgen. nov.), Y.subterebratus (Zhang, Zhu & Wang, 2017) comb. nov. (♀), and Y.terebratus (Peng & Wang, 1997) comb. nov. (♂♀). Molecular analyses support Yunguiriusgen. nov. as a monophyletic group, with the Sinodraconarius clade as its sister group: Yunguiriusgen. nov. + (Hengconarius + (Nuconarius + Sinodraconarius)).

Sinocoelotes gen. n., a new genus of the subfamily Coelotinae (Araneae, Agelenidae) from Southeast Asia.

Project description:A new genus of the spider subfamily Coelotinae, Sinocoelotes gen. n., with nine new species, is described from Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces in southern China. The new species are: Sinocoelotes cangshanensis sp. n. (♀), Sinocoelotes hehuaensis sp. n. (♂♀), Sinocoelotes luoshuiensis sp. n. (♀), Sinocoelotes mangbangensis sp. n. (♀) from Yunnan; Sinocoelotes kangdingensis sp. n. (♀), Sinocoelotes ludingensis sp. n. (♂♀), Sinocoelotes mahuanggouensis sp. n. (♀), Sinocoelotes muliensis sp. n. (♀), and Sinocoelotes yanyuanensis sp. n. (♂) from Sichuan. In addition, six Coelotes species are transferred to the new genus: Sinocoelotes acicularis (Wang, Griswold & Ubick, 2009), comb. n. (♂♀), Sinocoelotes forficatus (Liu & Li, 2010), comb. n. (♂♀), Sinocoelotes guangxian (Zhang, Yang, Zhu & Song, 2003), comb. n. (♂♀), Sinocoelotes pseudoterrestris (Schenkel, 1963), comb. n. (♂♀), Sinocoelotes pseudoyunnanensis (Wang, Griswold & Ubick, 2009), comb. n. (♂♀) and Sinocoelotes thailandensis (Dankittipakul & Wang, 2003), comb. n. (♂♀). Project description:Baiyueriusgen. nov., a new genus of the subfamily Coelotinae F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1893 is described, including five new species: B.daxisp. nov. (♀), B.pindongsp. nov. (♂), B.tamdaosp. nov. (♀), B.zhupingsp. nov. (♂) and B.zuojiangsp. nov. (♂♀), from southern China and northern Vietnam. Our molecular phylogenetic analyses support Baiyuerius gen. nov. as monophyletic and as a sister group of the newly established genus Yunguirius Li, Zhao & Li, 2023.

Kelawakaju gen. nov., a new Asian lineage of marpissine jumping spiders (Araneae, Salticidae, Marpissina).

Project description:The genus Kelawakaju Maddison & Ruiz, gen. nov., is described for a lineage of bark-dwelling Asian marpissine jumping spiders that represent a dispersal to Eurasia separate from that of the Marpissa-Mendoza lineage, according to the phylogeny recovered from analysis of four gene regions. All species of Kelawakaju are new to science except Kelawakajufrenata (Simon, 1901), comb. nov., which is transferred from Ocrisiona Simon, 1901. Kelawakajufrenata is known from Hong Kong, Guangdong, Guangxi, and likely Taiwan. The five new species are Kelawakajumulu Maddison & Ruiz, sp. nov. (type species of Kelawakaju, from Sarawak, Malaysia, ♂♀), K.intexta Maddison & Ruiz, sp. nov. (from Sarawak, ♂), K.leucomelas Maddison & Ng, sp. nov. (Singapore and Johor Bahru, ♂♀), K.sahyadri Vishnudas, Maddison, & Sudhikumar, sp. nov. (India, ♂♀), and K.singapura Maddison & Ng, sp. nov. (Singapore, ♂♀).

Taxonomic studies on the sac spider genus Clubiona (Araneae, Clubionidae) from Xishuangbanna Rainforest, China.

Project description:Spiders of the genus Clubiona Latreille, 1804 from Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China are studied. A total of 47 species is reported and illustrated, including 14 new species and two new synonyms. Twelve of the new species belong to four species groups: C. dengpao Yu & Li, sp. nov., C. subdidentata Yu & Li, sp. nov., C. tixing Yu & Li, sp. nov., C. xiaoci Yu & Li, sp. nov., C. xiaokong Yu & Li, sp. nov., C. yejiei Yu & Li, sp. nov., C. zhaoi Yu & Li, sp. nov. and C. zhigangi Yu & Li, sp. nov. from the C. corticalis group; C. mii Yu & Li, sp. nov. and C. subtongi Yu & Li, sp. nov. from the C. ternatensis group; C. banna Yu & Li, sp. nov. from the C. filicata group; and C. menglun Yu & Li, sp. nov. from the C. trivialis group. The remaining two new species, C. shuangsi Yu & Li, sp. nov. and C. wangchengi Yu & Li, sp. nov., are not readily assignable to any of the existing species groups. The female of C. cochlearis Yu & Li, 2019, the female of C. tiane Yu & Li, 2019, the female of C. bicornis Yu & Li, 2019, the male of C. lala Jäger & Dankittipakul, 2010 and the true female of C. suthepica Dankittipakul, 2008 are described for the first time. Two new synonyms are: C. vukomi Jäger & Dankittipakul, 2010 syn. nov. = C. circulata Zhang & Yin, 1998; C. melanothele Thorell, 1895 syn. nov. = Clubiona melanosticta Thorell, 1890. A checklist of Clubiona species from Xishuangbanna is provided. The DNA barcodes of almost all of the species were obtained for species delimitation, matching of sexes and future use.

(♂♀), S. sangjiuensissp. n. (♂♀, type species), S. yuisp. n. (♂♀) and S. patellabifidus (Wang, 2003) comb. n., ex. Draconarius Ovtchinnikov, 1999 is described. The genus is restricted to Southwest China. Sinodraconariusgen. n. is most similar to Draconarius but can be distinguished by the shape of the copulatory organs. The DNA barcodes of all species were documented for future use.

Project description:A new genus of the spider family Deinopidae C.L. Koch, 1850 is described from Asia: Asianopis Lin & Li gen. nov., with A. zhuanghaoyuni Lin & Li sp. nov. as the type species. The new genus is divided into two species groups, of which the liukuensis-group includes two species: A. dumogae (Merian, 1911) sp. reval. comb. nov. (♀) and A. liukuensis (Yin, Griswold & Yan, 2002) comb. nov. (♂♀); and the zhuanghaoyuni-group comprises five species: A. celebensis (Merian, 1911) comb. nov. (♂), A. konplong (Logunov, 2018) comb. nov. (♂), A. wangi Lin & Li sp. nov. (♂♀), A. wuchaoi Lin & Li sp. nov. (♂♀), and A. zhuanghaoyuni Lin & Li sp. nov. All previously described species are transferred from Deinopis MacLeay, 1839. Deinopis scrubjunglei Caleb & Mathai, 2014 is treated as a junior synonym of Asianopis liukuensis comb. nov.
