Tetrahydrobiopterin (BH<sub>4</sub>) is a cofactor that participates in the biogenesis reactions of a variety of biomolecules, including l-tyrosine, l-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine, 5-hydroxytryptophan, nitric oxide, and glycerol.
