Photoelectrochemical solar energy conversion offers a way to directly store light into energy-rich chemicals. Photoanodes based on the WO<sub>3</sub>/BiVO<sub>4</sub> heterojunction are most effective mainly thanks to the efficient separation of photogenerated charges.
