<i>Camellia semiserrata</i> is a woody plant that produces excellent edible oil and is a common landscaping species in South China. The complete chloroplast genome of <i>C. semiserrata</i> was sequenced, assembled, annotated, and characterized using the Illumina MiSeq platform in this study.
