The study described here examined the effects of cavitation nuclei characteristics on histotripsy. High-speed optical imaging was used to compare bubble cloud behavior and ablation capacity for histotripsy generated from intrinsic and artificial cavitation nuclei (gas-filled microbubbles, fluid-filled nanocones).
