A new mechanochemical method was developed to convert polymer wastes, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC), to fuel gases (H<sub>2</sub>, CH<sub>4</sub>, and CO) under ball-milling with KMnO<sub>4</sub> at room temperature.
