A new species of the genus Fannia (Diptera, Fanniidae) is described from Yunnan, part of the Oriental Region in China, namely Fanniamenglaensis sp. nov. The detailed description, photographs and drawings of adults and male terminalia of F.menglaensis sp. nov. are provided. All specimens are preserved in the Museum of Beijing Forestry University.
