Complete Genome Sequence of Schaalia turicensis Strain CT001, Isolated from a Patient with Gonococcal Urethritis in Thailand.

ABSTRACT: Schaalia turicensis, a Gram-positive bacillus, is a potential pathogen in genital infections. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of S. turicensis strain CT001, which was coisolated with Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Comprehensive analysis revealed the presence of a composite transposon carrying an imperfect class 1 integron in S. turicensis.

Complete genome sequence of Schaalia odontolytica isolated from subgingival biofilm.

Project description:ObjectiveRecent advancements in genome-based taxonomic classification propose the reclassification of certain Actinomyces species into new genera, including Schaalia. Schaalia odontolytica, the type species within this genus, is frequently found in the human oral cavity and has been associated with actinomycotic lesions. Currently, only two complete genomes of S. odontolytica strains have been reported. Recognizing the limited research on subspecies-level variation of S. odontolytica, we conducted genome sequencing of strain KHUD_008, isolated from a Korean periodontitis patient's subgingival biofilm. Additionally, we performed a comparative genome analysis using previously sequenced genomes of strain XH001 and strain FDAARGOS_732, both derived from the human oral cavity.Data descriptionPacific Biosciences Sequel II sequencing generated 15,904 and 76,557 raw sequencing sub-reads, which were integrated to assemble the de novo genome using the Microbial Genome Analysis pipeline in the Single-Molecule Real-Time Analysis. The genome assembly completeness, assessed by Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs, reached 99.2%. The genome is 2,389,595 bp with a GC content of 66.37%, and contains 2,002 protein-coding genes, 9 rRNAs, and 48 tRNA. Comparative analysis with two previously sequenced strains revealed many strain-specific genes in KHUD_008, primarily related to envelope biogenesis and replication/recombination/repair processes.

Project description:The complete genome of Zika virus (ZIKV) strain CVD_06-274 was isolated from the serum of an infected patient in Thailand in 2006. Phylogenetic analysis showed that this strain belongs to the Asian lineage and also high titers in Vero cells (RCB 10-87). It has potential for development as an inactivated ZIKV vaccine.

Project description:Clostridioides difficile is a Gram-positive, obligate anaerobic, toxin-producing bacillus that is linked to antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Here, we report the whole-genome sequence of a C. difficile strain isolated from stool from a patient, using next-generation sequencing (MGISEG-2000). De novo assembly revealed a genome length of 4,208,266 bp. Multilocus sequence typing (MLST) results showed that the isolate belonged to sequence type 23 (ST23).

Project description:The whole-genome sequence of strain K-4, isolated from grass silage in Thailand, which constitutes a chromosome and two plasmids, is 2,914,933 bp long, has a GC content of 37.5%, and contains 2,734 predicted protein-coding genes. Average nucleotide identity based on BLAST+ (ANIb) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) values indicated that the strain K-4 was closely related to Enterococcus faecalis.

Project description:A Neisseria gonorrhoeae multilocus sequence type (MLST) ST7363 strain was isolated from a patient at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, in 2010 and completely sequenced. This strain is susceptible to ceftriaxone and cefixime. A complete circular chromosome and circular plasmids were assembled from combined Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Illumina sequencing.
